John was born in 1997 to a family of Danish acrobats. Three years before that, John was born into a rookery of Antarctic pelicans but as with many blended families, tensions became so acute that he crawled back into his egg. At the age of 15, John's life took an unexpected turn when, on a family visit to Copenhagen, he chanced upon a copy of Maatts Broegen's epic work, 'On the Wings of a Cactus.' He was so enthralled with Broegan's soaring description of oatmeal that he decided right then and there to forget juggling and concentrate on water soluble grains and seeds. These studies pointed him naturally to plants and natural fibres, then to an investigation of fabrics and clothing and finally to the beginning of a life-long study of shirts, shoes and pants. John's involvement with No Shirt, No Shoes, Pants Optional has been described as the "Icicle on the Cake" by virtually everyone who listens to the podcast
